"Learn, Apply and Don't Stay Helpless" event was organized by Golhisar Vocational School.

Between 10-14 November 2023, the First Aid program of Gölhisar Vocational School, "Hands Reaching Out to Life Community", organized an event titled "Learn, Apply, and Don't Stay Helpless" by the community academic advisor Instructor Fulya Sağ Kara and community member students. The event took place between 10-14 November 2023 at Gölhisar Square, Gölhisar Youth Center, Gölhisar Dormitory, and Gölhisar Health Services Vocational School. According to World Health Organization data, cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of death worldwide. Measures taken in the first minutes of emergencies and first aid applications are crucial for the survival of the patient. Especially in cases of respiratory and/or cardiac arrest, there may not be enough time for the patient to wait for professional emergency medical teams to arrive. Events such as heart attacks, choking, electric shocks, strokes, poisonings can pose a threat at any moment and anywhere in life, leading to serious consequences. In such situations, it is necessary to intervene with the patient in a short period of time. Citizens have been informed and practical applications have been made on models in order to assess the patient's condition, open the airways in unconscious patients, apply artificial respiration in patients without breathing, and perform cardiac massage.
